The Opportunity:

Are you an experienced Maintenance Engineer looking to work on safety-critical train protection products throughout the complete product lifecycle in Birmingham?

We are looking for a dedicated and proactive Maintenance Engineer to join our client's dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of large transport vehicles.

This role is crucial to ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of the transport fleet.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on large transport vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
• Implement preventative maintenance programs to minimise downtime.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and repairs.
• Collaborate with other engineering teams to optimise vehicle performance and reliability.
• Provide technical support and training to junior engineers and maintenance staff.

Candidate Essentials

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field).
• Proven experience in maintaining large transport vehicles, such as trains or aeroplanes.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Desirable

• Maintenance Engineering experience related to product/system design of train-borne equipment.
