My client have been manufacturing for over 150 years and have a strong reputation in the area, they have recently had £12 million investment and supply metal to various industries including the mobile phone industry through to the cymbals on drum kits. They have a healthy order book and during a time of uncertainty this is great company to join as a mechanically biased maintenance engineer. This isn’t firefighting role – far from it. This will be a mix of PPM’s, reactive breakdowns as well of lots of project work. There us so much overtime available at x1.5 and double time you can easily earn up to £60,000+

Duties of a mechanically biased maintenance engineer

Day to day you will be expected to be working with a variety of plant machinery which includes melting furnaces, strip casters, rolling mills, pickling lines, hydraulics, pneumatics, compressors and water pumps. 

Experience required for the mechanically biased maintenance engineer
 

  • Qualified to level 3 or apprenticeship served in an a mechanical discipline
  • Experience within heavy industry is advantageous
  • Must be mechanically biased 
  • Any mechanically biased maintenance engineer from manufacturing environment to be considered
