An exciting opportunity to join as a Team Administrator/Technical Administrator in our Planning Team based in Birmingham.

Role Overview : 

To provide support to the Planning team comprising of 10 fee earners and supporting a wider admin team across the Birmingham Office. As part of a fast-paced professional and corporate environment. This role requires someone who is proactive, well organised and diligent and has an eye for detail.  

Team Overview : 

The successful candidate would work within the Savills Birmingham Planning Team providing planning services to a wide range of clients in the Midlands. The team’s reach is diverse, with a strong pipeline of Regionally significant projects including Government-backed Garden Villages, Strategic Urban Extensions, major urban mixed-use. 

In addition to a wide ranging rural / land owner estate portfolios. We work for a wide variety of high profile clients, spanning landowners, private individuals, institutions, developers, promoters, national and regional house builders, commercial/leisure operators and investors.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Providing full administrative and technical support to the team of 10 planners
  • Diary management (awareness of team availability), arranging meetings and booking meeting rooms.
  • Typing and formatting of letters/reports/tenders/emails
  • Raising fee invoices and management of the team’s billing process including project and team wide fee spreadsheets.
  • Managing the preparation of the team’s weekly work list schedule in advance (completion by the end of the previous week) of weekly team meetings.

Key Skills : 

  • Excellent administration and time management skills
  • Excellent IT skills – Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication skills (on the telephone, in person and by email)
  • Accurate typing skills
  • Highly numerate and comfortable with managing financial spreadsheets
  • Be willing to learn new IT programmes relevant to Savills operations and to impart this knowledge on the team where relevant.
  • Enthusiasm to do a good job in a fast paced, professional and corporate environment.
  • Proactive, assertive and self-motivated
  • Excellent organisational and prioritising ability
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and positively embraces the use of a telephone.
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent ability to work flexibly and multi-task
  • Must be a team player but also have the ability to use own initiative
  • Dependable – team can rely on candidate to produce work to deadlines and be communicative.
  • Ability to work under pressure and key deadlines
