Role Purpose The Plant Coordinator will play a key role in the smooth coordination and delivery of plant and equipment across various projects. This role requires an individual who can manage day-to-day plant requests, ensure timely delivery and off-hire processes, and maintain accurate plant records while liaising with both internal teams and external suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate plant and equipment requests in line with project requirements and site programmes
  • Act as the key point of contact between site teams, the internal commercial and planning departments, and external suppliers
  • Monitor and manage plant movements, ensuring optimal utilisation and cost-efficiency
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date hire logs, delivery/collection records, and reporting systems
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards related to plant operations
  • Assist in managing disputes or discrepancies relating to plant hire charges and equipment usage
  • Support commercial teams with cost tracking and plant-related invoicing queries
About You Essential
  • Strong numerical, organisational and analytical skills
  • Excellent negotiation, influencing, and presentation skills
  • IT literate with proficient use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
  • Experience in plant control, hire desk operations, or working within a plant hire environment
Desirable
  • Knowledge and understanding of construction and/or civil engineering environments
