Role and Responsibilities:
We are seeking a highly skilled Operations Manager to oversee all aspects of production and operational efficiency at our manufacturing site. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will play a critical role in ensuring smooth workflow, optimal resource utilisation, and adherence to quality standards. Your leadership will directly impact the productivity, cost-effectiveness, and overall success of our operations.
Qualifications and knowledge:
- Production Management Ensure efficient production planning and execution to meet demand and quality standards.
- Operational Efficiency: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
- Quality Control: Work closely with the quality assurance team to maintain high standards in product output.
- Workforce Supervision: Lead and support production teams, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Maintenance & Downtime Reduction: Collaborate with maintenance teams to minimise downtime and ensure equipment reliability.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Uphold safety protocols and regulatory compliance in line with industry best practices.
- Cost & Inventory Control: Monitor budgeting, inventory, and supply chain efficiency to optimize costs.
- Reporting & Strategy: Provide data-driven insights and reports to the Site Plant Manager for strategic decision-making.
Skills and experience:
- Proven experience in operations or production management in a manufacturing environment (Ppreferably plastics or packaging).
- Strong understanding of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other efficiency-driven methodologies.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
- Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental regulations in manufacturing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and production planning tools.
- Strong communication skills to liaise with cross-functional teams and senior management.
