Minerals & Waste Planning Officer (DM)
West Midlands
3-month initial contract
£50p/h Umbrella (DOE)

Job Ref - 54235

I am working closely with my client as they seek an interim Minerals & Waste Planning Officer on an initial 3-month contract.

This role requires someone with previous Minerals & Waste planning experience, who can hit the ground running with minimal supervision. Candidates who've largely operated at Senior or Principal Officer level will be considered.

This area is an important source of mineral aggregates, particularly crushed rock, and a high level of expertise is required in order to oversee development in this area.

The successful candidate will have a degree and post graduate qualifications in planning or a related discipline, together with several years' experience in planning related roles in local government and/or private practice.

There is a requirement to demonstrate clear understanding of the development management function within a local authority and the range of stakeholders involved in decision taking. Effective and productive communication and negotiation with colleagues, consultees, applicants/agents, councillors and members of the public is an essential and significant part of the role.

The role involves dealing with conflicting demands and deadlines and accordingly an ability to prioritise and manage tasks in a professional and efficient manner is also required.

The role is remote-based, with site visits as and when required, depending on the demands of your caseload. The council value office presence and the chance to meet face to face regularly, local candidates who are willing to be in the office weekly may be preferred - but this is not mandatory.

Interviews are due to take place imminently, if this post is of interest, please do get in touch at your earliest convenience to discuss. Further details are available upon request.

It would aid your application is you are a qualified Town Planner and you must have previous Town Planning experience to be considered.
