The Role

As the Marketing and Communications Coordinator, you'll be the creative force behind social media and marketing campaigns. Working within our small, energetic team, you'll take charge of their social media presence, enhancing student engagement both online and in person.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicate SU campaigns and activities to Aston students and stakeholders
  • Manage SU social media channels to boost student engagement
  • Create impactful multimedia content in line with brand guidelines
  • Advise on marketing best practices and trends
  • Report on engagement metrics and provide data-driven recommendations
  • Support staff and officers in achieving marketing objectives
  • Coordinate event promotions and social media coverage
  • Partner with Aston University teams to enhance SU engagement

The Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for a creative and proactive communicator, passionate about student engagement.

Essential Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience with social media and digital communication channels
  • Degree or equivalent relevant experience
  • Proven content creation skills across multiple platforms
  • Campaign planning and delivery experience
  • Strong proofreading skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

Desirable Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience in Students’ Union or higher education settings
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
  • Project management experience
  • Background in communications/marketing coordination
