We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Engineering Lecturer to join a vibrant college in Birmingham. This temporary position offers an exciting opportunity to impart knowledge and skills to aspiring engineers, focusing on Level 1 – 3 City and Guilds Engineering 2850.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Deliver engaging and informative lectures on mechanical engineering principles and practices.
  • Provide hands-on instruction in the use of lathes and milling machines, ensuring students gain practical and applicable skills.
  • Prepare and set assessments that reflect the comprehensive coverage of the City and Guilds syllabus.
  • Offer guidance and support to students, fostering a conducive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with other faculty members to enhance the curriculum and learning resources.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in mechanical engineering, particularly in using lathes and milling machines.
  • Prior teaching experience in mechanical engineering or a related field, with a strong grasp of the City and Guilds Engineering 2850 syllabus.
  • Ability to engage and inspire students of varying backgrounds and skill levels.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • A commitment to high-quality teaching and fostering a positive learning environment.
  • Relevant academic qualifications in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, CertEd) or equivalent professional certification.
