About the Role:Our client, a well-established manufacturing company with over 30 years of industry experience, is seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Engineer to join their growing team. Position Purpose:The successful candidate will be responsible for preventative and reactive maintenance of a range of production equipment. This includes mechanical and electrical maintenance of machinery such as injection moulding machines, tool room equipment, and various other machines used on-site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance on production equipment, including injection moulding machines, tool room equipment, and ancillary machinery.
- Fault finding on PLC systems (Siemens S5 & S7, Mitsubishi).
- Conduct root cause analysis to identify potential equipment failures and prevent breakdowns.
- Carry out planned maintenance and record details in the Maintenance software system.
- Liaise with production teams to schedule downtime for essential repairs.
- Source and replace parts as necessary.
- Respond to daily breakdowns and ensure all details are recorded in the Maintenance software.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to minimise equipment downtime.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Strong experience with extrusion and mixing plants.
- Experience operating (or willingness to be trained to operate) forklifts, pallet jacks, overhead cranes, cherry pickers, and scissor lifts.
- Able to safely handle sharp and heavy objects.
- Familiarity with the use of handheld and stationary power tools.
- Comfortable working in confined spaces and carrying out physically demanding tasks (reaching, bending, lifting).
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and Maintenance software packages.
- Ability to read and interpret both hydraulic and electrical drawings.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and good written and oral communication skills.
- Previous experience as a Maintenance Engineer within an injection moulding environment is essential.
Qualifications:
- Fully qualified in mechanical and electrical engineering.
- 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certificate (preferred).
Working Hours:
- Full-time position, 42.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 9am - 6pm).
