Your new companyYou will be joining an industry-leading contractor based in the Birmingham area operating in the water sector. This multi-accredited and established organisation has a strong pipeline of work with Severn Trent and offers excellent opportunities for career progression and professional development. Due to continued success, they are looking to onboard a Mechanical Project Engineer to join their team.

This is a full-time permanent position based out of their Birmingham office with occasional site travel within the Severn Trent region. You will also have the option for hybrid and flexible working (3 days in office/on site and 2 days from home).

Your new roleAs Mechanical Project Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Outlining engineering works from inception through to completion
  • Participating in project review meetings and contributing to business process improvements
  • Coordinating and managing subcontractors to ensure mechanical works align with project objectives, timelines and quality standards
  • Preparing reports, project plans and status updates for clients and internal stakeholders
  • Conducting site visits (currently in the Worcestershire area) on occasion to monitor progress of mechanical works, troubleshoot technical issues and ensure safety and compliance with standards
  • Leading successful delivery of multiple projects simultaneously.

What you'll need to succeedIn order to be successful, you must have:

  • Proven mechanical project management/engineering experience, ideally in the water industry
  • Good working knowledge of NEC and/or IChemE contracts
  • Sound communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Full UK driving licence.
