A Project Engineer with experience of leading maintenance projects is sought by an established Birmingham based manufacturing company.YOUR ROLEWorking closely with the Manufacturing Director you will lead maintenance and process optimisation projects within a busy manufacturing company. You will be overseeing engineering projects from conception to completion involving the design, and development of key areas of plant to achieve significant and sustainable ongoing improvements.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Fault finding, identifying, developing, and implementing and managing modifications to the current manufacturing equipment and processes, by reviewing in a structured manner opportunities to improve production output, product quality and equipment reliability
  • Management of projects (revenue or capital) including time scales and budgets,
  • Work with production and support services to identify new equipment requirements within the manufacturing processes where requested, and prepare and submit tenders for new equipment, and then take this through to installation and commissioning
  • Co-ordination and management of any contractors that are involved in projects/tasks
  • Ensure where applicable, that plant is designed, installed, tested and commissioned in accordance with the contract conditions and that appropriate records are produced throughout
  • Schedule, plan, forecast, resource, and manage all the technical activities under your control and in the process, ensure continuous improvements and project accuracy and quality to completion.

To succeed within this role you will need some of the following skills, qualifications and personal qualities

  • A HNC In Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or relevant field
  • Experience as a Project Engineer preferably within maintenance and process improvement
  • Be proficient in 2D and 3D design software, preferably AutoCAD and Inventor
  • Have some knowledge of Microsoft Project or equivalent project tracking software
  • Have an understanding of pneumatics and hydraulics
  • Be able to work with cross-functional teams and multiple disciplines day to day and on key projects
  • Meet objectives and manage several projects concurrently
