THE SENIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER ROLE
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you'll take ownership of technically challenging projects within nuclear and defence programmes. You'll lead the design, development, and delivery of mechanical systems using your in-depth knowledge of engineering codes, CAD tools, and regulated design processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design work, from concept to detailed delivery
- Apply design codes and industry standards to ensure safe and compliant solutions
- Deliver high-quality technical documentation, calculations, and design justifications
- Use computer-aided design tools to produce detailed engineering outputs
- Guide junior engineers and contribute to peer reviews and technical assurance
- Engage with stakeholders and clients to present solutions with confidence
SENIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER - ESSENTIAL SKILLS
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related)
- Chartered or working toward Chartered status
- Proven experience in project engineering and mechanical design
- Familiarity with nuclear design codes, CAD systems, and safety-critical standards
- Strong understanding of the design lifecycle in high-integrity environments
- Experience in regulated sectors such as Nuclear, MOD, or Defence
- Active SC or DV Security Clearance
