This is a fantastic opportunity to work with one of the West Midlands' most iconic travel brand, installing and maintaining cutting-edge in-vehicle communications systems. What you'll be doing:

  • Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting a range of communication systems in Public Sector / Emergency Service vehicles.
  • Meeting tight SLAs, ensuring a high first-time fix rate, and always prioritizing Health & Safety and security.
  • Collaborating with a supportive team of professionals to share knowledge and solve problems together.
  • Managing tools, equipment, and assets, and ensuring all work meets customer requirements and safety standards.
  • Contributing to the commissioning and maintenance of critical systems like TETRA, GPS, dash cameras, lighting, telematics, and more.

Who You Are:

You are a skilled Vehicle Installation Engineer with hands-on experience in in-vehicle electrical systems. You thrive in dynamic environments and have a strong passion for problem-solving and technical work. Whether you're installing, troubleshooting, or maintaining, you always ensure that the job is done right. You're comfortable working independently, travelling directly to sites, and managing your time efficiently, especially on night shifts (Sunday-Thursday, 7pm-3am). Most importantly, you are keen to develop your skills through additional training and want to be part of a team that values learning, growth, and collaboration.

Key Requirements:

  • Ideally FITAS FCS1362
  • Full, valid UK Driving Licence.
  • Ability to achieve SC Security Clearance (minimum of 5 years UK residency).
  • Proficiency with IT tools (laptop, mobile phone, tablet).
  • City & Guilds / NVQ in Electronics/Electrical Installs.
  • Experience with Low Voltage (LV) cabling and connections.
  • Proven experience installing a range of electrical equipment in vehicles (e.g., TETRA systems, GPS units, dash cameras, telematics).
  • Familiar with electrical installs across multiple vehicle types (buses, taxis, police, ambulances, fire engines, HGVs, etc.).
  • Ability to meet customer expectations and work to design specifications.
