Field Maintenance Engineer

Location: Field - Covering the Birmingham area. You must attend initial training at the head office in Attleborough, Norfolk. Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 DOEShift Pattern: Monday - Friday, optional weekendsHours: 10-hour days (flexibility required)On-Call Rota: After 6 months

Role Purpose:

As a Field Maintenance Engineer, you'll attend customer premises to perform essential system maintenance, fault diagnostics, and repairs. Your expertise will ensure that fire suppression systems operate safely and effectively.

What You'll Do:
  • Maintenance Visit Planning: Prepare for assigned visits by ensuring all equipment and service kits are loaded and ready.

  • Customer Service: Build and maintain professional relationships with customers, representing our company with pride.

  • Maintenance Work: Conduct repairs and maintenance safely and in accordance with service instructions.

  • Documentation: Complete all paperwork accurately and promptly, ensuring timely submission to the office.

  • Call-Out Duties: Be ready to respond to call-outs during your on-call week, keeping communication open and timely.

  • Service Vehicle Management: Maintain your allocated service vehicle, performing daily and weekly checks.

  • Quality Assurance: Adhere to all QHSE policies, ensuring safety and compliance in every task.

What We're Looking For:
  • Technical Expertise: Experience in field engineering, ideally with knowledge of water mist fire suppression systems. Electrical engineers should hold at least Level 3 qualifications and ideally the 17th Edition.

  • Customer Focus: Strong communication skills to engage with customers and colleagues effectively.

  • Technology Savvy: Proficient in using mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets.

  • CSCS Card: Must hold or be able to obtain a relevant CSCS or similar competency card.
