About us

ATA is working with a large manufacturing group, who are looking for experienced lead mechanical maintenance engineer to join their team. The company who turnover over £400 million have a fantastic reputation within their market space & due to recent changes in the legislations have saw a huge increase in the need for their product. This increase has allowed them to put forward exciting plans to improve site efficiency, upgrade machinery and increase the size of their production team.

This will be spearheaded by a diverse and down to earth plant manager, alongside an experienced operations team. This opportunity is fantastic for any production shift manager who is looking for stability and long-term employment.

About the role

As a lead mechanical maintenance engineer, you will be responsible for leading a team of shift and days based mechanical engineers.

Responsibilities will include:

- Planning in the team's mechanical maintenance works

- Supporting with the management of shut down periods.

- Supporting the team with complex problem solving and getting involved with complex breakdowns.

- Root cause analysis, continuous improvement and project management.

- Management of external contracts and onsite contractors.

- Managing health and safety alongside a SHE coordinator.

- KPI management

About you

To be considered for this lead mechanical maintenance engineer role you should have/be the following:

- Previous experience working within a manufacturing environment would be beneficial.

- Strong mechanical knowledge with a good understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.

- Experience leading a team to achieve business KPIs

- Experience managing health and safety completing RAMS

- Able to work in pressurised situations and can make decisions confidently.

- Time Served and qualified with a level 3 engineering qualification.
