Position: Maintenance Team Leader

Overview

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Maintenance Team Leader to oversee and coordinate the activities of our clients maintenance team. The ideal candidate will ensure the smooth operation of all machinery, equipment, and facilities while maintaining a high standard of safety, efficiency, and quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensures maintenance and repair work is completed safely, effectively, and in a timely manner.
  • Health and safety responsibility for area, personnel, and contractors.
  • To carry out H&S audits and risk assessments in line with Company procedures.
  • Support, comply and ensure complicity with Health & Safety regulations, the Company Handbook, Quality and Environmental standards & all other Company policies and procedures.
  • Regularly check the status of the team activities to ensure timely progress on open issues and projects.
  • Co-operate and support all maintenance activities to meet the overall department objectives.
  • Responsible for the 5S to the agreed standards in the agreed areas of responsibility.
  • Lead maintenance with regards to factory-based improvement projects.
  • Promote and cultivate a team environment based on openness, mutual respect, and collaborative working.
  • Provide support for Maintenance prevention activities.
  • Lead and support the TPM/PPM follow-up activities to ensure timely close out.
  • Maintain a flexible approach to support other Maintenance supervision roles when requested.
  • Organise the team and understand production priorities to minimise response times. Liaise with suppliers and manage on-site contractors and service engineers.
  • Maintain regular and professional communications with other departments.
  • Take the lead role for fire damage control in the event of a fire.
  • Provide reports and maintain agreed KPI's
  • Ensure the Team members are fully tasked at all times.
  • Lead by example by promoting a positive and 'can-do' attitude.

  • Work on breakdowns when required.
  • Use SAP or other IT tools to plan and document all activities.
  • Undertake any other reasonable requests by the Company



Skills and Qualifications

  • Time served background in a maintenance/engineering discipline
  • Supervising team across multiple shifts
  • Ability to plan, analyse and challenge
  • Ability to communicate with clarity, both verbally and in written form Microsoft Office tools

Requirements

  • HNC in a maintenance related discipline
  • City & Guilds in a Maintenance related discipline

Pay and Hours

  • Double day shift working:
  • Shift 1- 1.30pm - 21.00pm Mon - Thur and Fri 13.00 - 8.00pm Shift 2- 6.00am - 1.30pm Mon - Thur and Fri 1.00pm - 8pm
  • 45,000 + shift allowance (2600)
  • Then after 6 months you will progress to the stage following: Stage 2- Basically salary will rise to 48,000 + shift allowance (2600)
