Mechanical Technician needed for a well-known facilities management organisation based in Birmingham who are looking to employ an experienced and well-rounded Mechanical Technician that takes pride in their work with an in-depth knowledge of working on TMV, Water Tanks, Showers, Taps, Calorifiers, Water Softeners, RO Plant, DI plant, sampling.

The successful candidate must have an NVQ or C&G Level 2 Heating/Vent/Plumbing and then preferably have NVQ or C&G Level 3 Heating/Vent/Plumbing and have a keen interest in becoming a Mechanical Technician.

What the role entails:

Some of the main duties of the Mechanical Technician will include:

  • To perform the complete range of Mechanical Technician (Water) tasks as required or directed by management.
  • To be knowledgeable of and to work to the current regulations, codes of practice, Health &
  • Safety regulations,
  • To understand the operation of water systems and to correctly apply this knowledge and
  • understand during the performance of Estates Services maintenance and testing activities.
  • Interpret and work from all instructions, drawings, and specifications appropriate to his/her
  • own trade, without supervision.
  • Ensure all PPM work is carried out effectively in compliance with maintenance instructions.
  • Maintain records and logbooks, ensuring they are kept up to date and available for inspection.
  • To record information as required for the operation of Maximo or similar system.

  • To assist in ensuring that immediate corrective action is taken in the event of emergencies, so
  • that the Trusts/client needs are met, to avoid danger to people, property, and service
  • To provide as requested by management reports, calculations, and recommendations for the

correct and efficient running of all plant and equipment.

What experience you need to be the successfulMechanical Technician:

  • Previous experience of working within a health care environment (desirable)
  • NVQ or C&G Level 2 Heating/Vent/Plumbing
  • NVQ or C&G Level 3 Heating/Vent/Plumbing (desirable)
  • Legionella/TMV/Disinfection awareness and training
  • HTM 04 RP/CP training (desirable)
