Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Section Engineer to join our team on a prestigious infrastructure project located at the intersection of the M42 and M6 near Water Orton, North Warwickshire. This role focuses on structures, precast, piling, and foundation works. The ideal candidate will bring a forward-thinking approach to planning and programming and demonstrate exceptional problem-solving and leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the delivery of structural, precast, piling, and foundation elements of the project, ensuring compliance with design specifications and quality standards.
Develop and manage detailed short-term and long-term programmes for assigned sections of work.
Conduct site inspections, supervise works, and ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards.
Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
Provide technical guidance to the site team and resolve any engineering challenges that arise.
Monitor progress against programme milestones and report on performance metrics to senior management.
Maintain accurate site records, including progress reports, as-built documentation, and quality assurance files.
Essential Requirements:
Proven experience in structural engineering with a focus on precast, piling, and foundation works.
Strong knowledge of construction processes and methodologies in large-scale infrastructure projects.
Demonstrable skills in forward planning, programming, and delivering work to tight deadlines.
Excellent communication and leadership abilities, capable of motivating and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental legislation and best practices.
Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., Chartered or working towards Chartered status) are highly desirable.
