AA Euro Group are recruiting on behalf of a specialist steel contractor responsible for delivering and erecting structural steel on a flagship infrastructure project in the UK and Europe. . This role is crucial to the safe and efficient delivery of one of the UK's largest infrastructure projects, involving the design, installation, and management of temporary works to facilitate the erection of structural steel.
The TWC will play a key role in ensuring temporary works are planned, implemented, and dismantled safely, in compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordination of Temporary Works:
- Act as the primary point of contact for all temporary works activities on site.
- Liaise with engineers, subcontractors, and site teams to ensure temporary works designs meet project needs.
- Manage the temporary works schedule, ensuring alignment with the project programme.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure all temporary works are compliant with CDM regulations and relevant British Standards.
- Conduct inspections and audits of temporary works installations, addressing any non-compliance issues promptly.
- Develop and maintain a Temporary Works Register and ensure all activities are documented.
- Design and Implementation:
- Review and approve temporary works designs, ensuring they meet technical requirements.
- Oversee the installation, maintenance, and removal of temporary works on site.
- Provide technical advice and solutions for complex temporary works challenges.
- Communication and Training:
- Deliver briefings to site teams and contractors on temporary works processes and safe practices.
- Coordinate with the Temporary Works Designer to resolve design issues and ensure smooth implementation.
- Ensure site teams are adequately trained and informed about temporary works procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven experience as a Temporary Works Coordinator in the construction or steel erection sectors.
- Strong understanding of temporary works design, installation, and management.
- Familiarity with CDM regulations, BS5975, and relevant safety standards.
- Exceptional organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
Essential Requirements
- CSCS Card (appropriate level for TWC responsibilities).
- Temporary Works Coordinator Training Scheme (TWCTC) certification.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- Experience in large-scale infrastructure or steel-related projects.
- First Aid at Work qualification.
Desirable Skills
- Knowledge of advanced steel erection techniques and innovative temporary works solutions.
