Job title-Metal Polisher

Job Purpose-As part of the manufacturing process the purpose of this role is to pre-linish and polish brass material, components and fabrications to a high level of quality.

Department/Location: Manufacturing 

Reporting to: Manufacturing Manager

Hours of Work: Monday-Friday, 40 Hours-Day shifts

Salary range- 11.44-15.50 per hour

Main Responsibillities

  • Performing operations chronologically as dictated by the Apex Production System (APS).
  • Review works order to understand what is to be done to the work (sateen, polish)
  • Identify whether specific faces or all of the product under the works order needs to be worked on.
  • Always ensure that work is moved on in a clean condition (no polishing compound remaining) and quality checked.
  • Upon completion of Works Order, record the operation as being completed on APS and move work to next location as identified on the Works Order.
  • Review any lates in the department and liaise with the Manufacturing Manager the issues and resolutions (material shortage, overtime requirements, etc)

Supporting Responsibillities:

  • Look to identify the correct bands required to complete work efficiently at all times.
  • Using the ‘Send Work Back’ function on the APS, be proactive in the identification of issues in work and liaising with team members corrective actions to reduce the chance of repeat issues.
  • Weekly cleaning and maintaining of machines, back stands and extraction units.
