Registered Psychologist

Our client has a part-time vacancy (30 hours) for a suitably qualified Psychologist at their psychiatric hospital in Birmingham. The hospital offers a comprehensive array of inpatient services, including acute and psychiatric intensive care for adults aged 18-25, as well as specialist programmes for Eating Disorders (which include day care) and private treatments for acute conditions and addictions. With 78 beds spread across 7 wards, their multidisciplinary teams provide personalised care plans, earning them a strong reputation for delivering exceptional standards of care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct individual therapy sessions for clients experiencing various forms of emotional distress.
  • Perform thorough psychological assessments and develop formulations.
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated and holistic care.
  • Administer and interpret psychometric tests to support diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Lead group therapy sessions using evidence-based therapeutic approaches.
  • Create and implement tailored treatment plans to meet individual client needs.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with professional standards and regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Psychologist with membership in a recognised professional body such as the HCPC.
  • Extensive experience in providing one-to-one therapy to clients facing diverse emotional and psychological challenges.
  • Demonstrated expertise in conducting assessments, developing formulations, and delivering psychometric evaluations.
  • Experience in leading group therapy and therapeutic interventions is desirable.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in managing adult caseloads.
