The principal role of the Field Engineer is to ensure the smooth delivery of Cat 5e cabling, VoIP phone systems, and other services to customers, both on-site and in the office.
Responsibilities:
- Install new CAT5e cabling and enhance existing data cabling infrastructure, including trunking installation.
- Conduct site surveys in commercial environments and provide detailed reports with findings.
- Install VoIP phones, switches, routers, and WiFi systems.
- Provide on-site customer support and complete on-site work within agreed provisioning process timescales.
- Troubleshoot a range of issues, investigate and diagnose faults, and work through to resolution.
- Ensure customer satisfaction in line with their expectations.
- Comply with company Health and Safety, Data Protection, Information Security, PCI, and IG policies.
Requirements:
- In-depth knowledge of installing Cat 5e cabling and enhancing existing data cabling infrastructures in commercial environments.
- Understanding of configuration management for customer premises equipment, such as routers, switches, and phones.
- Ability to conduct detailed site surveys and provide comprehensive reports.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Compliance with Health and Safety, Data Protection, Information Security, PCI, and IG policies.
- A satisfactory DBS check is required.
