On behalf of our client, a well-established, profitable, and growing engineering business in Birmingham, we are seeking a highly skilled Production Manager to lead their CNC section. This is a hands-on, technical role, ideal for someone with a strong background in CNC programming who thrives in a production environment.

The Role

The Production Manager will oversee a team of six CNC Programmers, managing daily activities, production schedules, and ensuring strict adherence to Health & Safety regulations. The successful candidate will play a key role in bringing complex machined components into production, working closely with the team to optimise processes and ensure high-quality output.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading and managing a team of six CNC Programmers.
  • Overseeing daily production plans and activities.
  • Ensuring components are produced to specification and on time.
  • Implementing and maintaining Health & Safety standards.
  • Working hands-on to resolve technical issues and bring complex components into production.
  • Reporting directly to the Managing Director and contributing to the management team.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Extensive experience in CNC programming, ideally with a variety of machinery and software.
  • Proven experience in managing a CNC production team.
  • A hands-on approach with the technical ability to bring complex machined components into production.
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • A commitment to maintaining the highest standards of Health & Safety.
