- Maintain the site mechanical plant and equipment to ensure the efficient and safe working of the plant.
- Carry out preventative maintenance and installation of new equipment as required.
- To attend break downs and assist the Electrician with his shift duties.
- To respond to and act upon the fault report system.
- To work closely with shift colleagues, charge hands, operators, maintenance charge hand, shift managers, production manager, and works manager to achieve the sites targets and objectivesÂ
- Industrial installations and control systems.
- The ability to fault find and test automated machinery.
- Knowledge of Hydraulics and Pneumatics.
- Welding and Cutting experience would be advantageous.
- Effective communication skills.
- A good understanding of health and safety is essential.
- City & Guilds Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship
