One of our leading NHS clients is looking for experienced mental health nurses to cover shifts in community hospitals in Birmingham.

Description:

  • Provide community mental health nursing that contributes to the wider mental health services available to the mentally ill within prison, particularly for those experiencing serious and enduring mental illness, symptoms of personality disorder, and acute phases of illness. This includes needs-led interventions, referrals, and liaison with other agencies both within and outside the prison environment.
  • Conduct risk assessments and create care management plans aimed at minimizing or preventing harm to staff and prisoners.
  • Ensure effective and integrated working with prison staff and other MDT professionals, such as social care providers, chaplaincy, and specialist services including probation, forensic mental health services, and drug workers.

Skills & Experience:

  • Relevant qualification and valid NMC PIN
  • Experience working in a secure setting
  • Mentoring qualification
  • Previous experience working in a prison
  • Qualification or experience in delivering Trauma-Informed Care
