We are seeking a Senior Specialist Occupational Therapist to provide expert neurorehabilitation and lead on occupational therapy provision within our service. This role offers the opportunity to work within a supportive team environment and make a significant impact on our service users' recovery and quality of life.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Work autonomously within a specialist clinical area of neurological rehabilitation, managing a caseload of service users with complex needs.
  • Complete the occupational therapy process using evidence-based and service user-centred principles to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate interventions.
  • Develop care programmes, delegate tasks appropriately, and ensure effective communication and handover within the team.
  • Conduct detailed risk assessments and maintain high standards of documentation and reporting as per RCOT guidelines.
  • Engage with service users, families, and external agencies sensitively and flexibly, adapting to changing needs and cultural considerations.
  • Lead on the coordination of rehabilitation programmes and discharge planning for some service users.
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate group interventions, assessing the overall needs of the service in relation to these activities.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety and infection control guidelines.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Diploma or degree in Occupational Therapy, registered with the HCPC.
  • Proven experience in neurological rehabilitation and ability to work autonomously.
  • Strong ability to prioritise and manage a complex caseload effectively.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and report writing skills.
  • Experience in formulating complex risk assessments and supervising training.
  • Valid UK driving licence.
