We are seeking a Senior Specialist Occupational Therapist to provide expert neurorehabilitation and lead on occupational therapy provision within our service. Day-to-day of the role:- Work autonomously within a specialist clinical area of neurological rehabilitation, managing a caseload of service users with complex needs.
- Complete the occupational therapy process using evidence-based and service user-centred principles to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate interventions.
- Develop care programmes, delegate tasks appropriately, and ensure effective communication and handover within the team.
- Conduct detailed risk assessments and maintain high standards of documentation and reporting as per RCOT guidelines.
- Engage with service users, families, and external agencies sensitively and flexibly, adapting to changing needs and cultural considerations.
- Lead on the coordination of rehabilitation programmes and discharge planning for some service users.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate group interventions, assessing the overall needs of the service in relation to these activities.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety and infection control guidelines.
- Diploma or degree in Occupational Therapy, registered with the HCPC.
- Proven experience in neurological rehabilitation and ability to work autonomously.
- Strong ability to prioritise and manage a complex caseload effectively.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and report writing skills.
- Experience in formulating complex risk assessments and supervising training.
- Valid UK driving licence.
- Competitive salary of £46,148 - £52,809 per annum, depending on experience.
