Senior Specialist Occupational Therapist

Birmingham

Salary: £46,148 - £52,809 per annum DOE

Hours: 35 hours per week

Our private sector client are recruiting a Senior Specialist Occupational Therapist to support their rehab centre in Birmingham on a permanent basis.

Their Birmingham site is a brain injury rehabilitation centre where people initially come for a 12-week assessment period, where they begin a rehabilitation period to support their recovery after a brain injury.

You will work as part of an multi/interdisciplinary team providing occupational therapy input within the BIRT Neurobehavioural model to People We Support with acquired brain injury and to lead on OT provision within the service.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist OT support in neurological rehabilitation, often as the sole clinician, with supervision as needed.
  • Manage a caseload of service users with complex needs or challenging behaviors.
  • Conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, implement interventions, and evaluate outcomes for complex cases.
  • Design care programs, oversee implementation by support staff, and monitor progress to ensure effective intervention.

Requirements:

  • A diploma or degree in occupational therapy, and registered with the HCPC.
  • Ability to work as an autonomous therapist with experience in neurological rehabilitation.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage a complex caseload.
