Senior Digital Communications ManagerBirmingham (with hybrid working)We're looking for a creative Senior Digital Communications Manager to join our busy team and help us deliver a sector-leading digital communications service to all our key stakeholders and beyond.We're looking for someone with initiative and an excellent eye for detail, who has a proven track record of advising on and overseeing digital communications projects and strategy, and of building and maintaining a range of digital communications platforms to reach external audiences.The Benefits- Salary of £52,953 per annum- Civil service pension, with an employer contribution rate of 27%- Flexible working- Hybrid working - specific guidelines are to be agreed with the line manager- 26 days’ holiday and option to buy up to five days’ extra annual leaveWhat you can expect from the role:- You’ll play an active role in the development and delivery of the Commission’s external communications vision.- You’ll be key in taking the team on the next stage of our journey to deliver outstanding external communications.- You’ll have the scope to look at how we can continuously improve our offering, ensuring we remain at the forefront and are reviewing the latest trends in communications.- You’ll be part of a great team, working closely with our internal and digital communications, and public affairs.- You’ll line manage the Digital Communications Manager and support other members of the team in developing their skills and helping them to achieve their career ambitions.- Additionally, you will be encouraged to take ownership of your own personal development, as you will be supported by a team that recognises the value of professional development, which includes corporate membership of CIPR.Key Responsibilities:Essential- Identify and deliver creative solutions to reach target audiences through digital channels - set-up and launch our external podcast channel- Project manage the delivery of innovative, high quality visual content for different distribution channels- Draw on knowledge of emerging trends in digital and social media and apply this knowledge to content ideas, being alert to issues which might impact or benefit this work- Manage and regularly update social media channels, improving 'stickiness’ of content to improve engagement levels- Make recommendations to key functional teams and executive office to improve their personal reach and engagement across all media, including events, social media and thought leadership collaborations- Copy-edit news and commentary including blogs and op-ed opportunities- Review and edit website and newsletter news content- Support the Head of External Communication and the Director of Communications in the delivery and upkeep of a content plan- Work with suppliers to support the process of our new social media management tool- Champion digital engagement and social media, sharing expertise to build capability across communication teams and the wider department- Ensure digital content meets accessibility standards and consider inclusivity in communication strategies- Manage the digital communications budget effectively, allocating resources to maximize impact and efficiencyPerson Specification:- Senior experience working across digital channels and web content for a content-led organisation- Prior experience across the marketing and communications mix inc. digital communications, social media and PR- Experience producing and editing social media content, growing follower numbers- Familiar working with Canva branded templates, or similar- Experience of working on the production of audio/video content i.e. YouTube content, podcasts, livestream- Experience using creative content and storytelling to effectively engage audiences with content through a range of different media- Experience with PR backlinks to boost the website credibility, organic rankings, and overall online presence- Experience using media monitoring or similar PR & Comms software for media management, monitoring coverage, and sending communications- Excellent IT skills, particularly MS Office suite and the use of content management systems- Excellent PR writing skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to a range of audiences- Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders and deliver high levels of customer service- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to multi-task and an attitude of continuous innovation and improvementAbout UsSet up under the Gambling Act 2005, the Gambling Commission is committed to safeguarding the public against any detrimental impact brought about by gambling.
