Housing Options Assistant

We are looking for a Housing Options Advisor to join the team of a well-established housing organisation in the Birmingham area. This role is offering a temporary position, helping to assist with the prevention of homelessness.

Monday to Friday

Temporary - 3 months plus

As a Housing Options Advisor, you will be:

• Proactive in prevention of homelessness and will support customers through the range of housing options available to them.
• Help conduct home visits to verify homelessness
• Securing temporary accommodation for homeless persons. This will involve liaising and negotiating with accommodation providers to secure a provision for the homeless persons.
• Preparing and serving of notices to quit to those customers in temporary accommodation where we are seeking possession.
• Providing support on the provision of temporary accommodation
• Complete licence agreements with prospective occupants and ensure housing benefit applications are registered online to maximise our income generation.

To be successful as a Housing Options Advisor, you will have previous experience in:

• Working within social housing, specifically in a housing options or homelessness prevention team
• Dealing with tenants to prevent homelessness
• Ability to communicate effectively via written and verbal communication
