Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and experienced M&E Compliance Surveyor to join our clients team in the Midlands. This role is crucial in ensuring the safety and compliance of their housing stock, particularly in the areas of mechanical and electrical systems. The successful candidate will have a strong background in social housing and a thorough understanding of Building Safety Compliance, including the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS).

Key Responsibilities

  • Compliance Management:Ensure all mechanical and electrical systems within our housing stock comply with current regulations and legislative requirements.
  • Surveying and Inspections:Conduct regular inspections and surveys to identify any compliance issues or potential risks, particularly focusing on HHSRS.
  • Reporting:Prepare detailed reports on findings, including recommendations for remedial actions.
  • Data Management:Utilise strong Excel skills to manage and analyse compliance data, ensuring accurate record-keeping and reporting.
  • Contractor Coordination:Work closely with contractors and subcontractors to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of compliance-related works.
  • Health and Safety:Ensure all health and safety requirements are met in accordance with company policies and statutory requirements.
  • Customer Focus:Improve tenant experience by ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and addressing any service failures promptly.

Key Experience and Skills

  • Social Housing Background:Proven experience in a similar role within the social housing sector.
  • Building Safety Compliance:In-depth knowledge of building safety compliance, particularly HHSRS.
  • Technical Skills:Strong proficiency in Excel for data management and analysis.
  • Communication:Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise effectively with tenants, contractors, and colleagues.
  • Problem-Solving:Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
