Primary PRU Teacher

Academics is seeking a strong Primary PRU teacher to start at a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) at a small school based in Solihull after the Easter term.

The school are looking for a creative Teacher who is experienced in working with pupils to deal with very challenging behaviour. It is a KS2 class with a small amount of pupils. The position is full time and due to start immediately.

This PRU specialises in catering for children who have been permanently excluded from mainstream school and as such, many of the pupils have social, emotional and behavioural difficulties (SEBD). Every class has a full time TA support.

What the successful Teacher should have:

  • Experience of working in a PRU or with challenging behaviour
  • Team Teach trained
  • Experience with SEMH
  • Qualified or highly experienced Unqualified Teacher/Instructor
  • The ability to take on full class teaching responsibilities.
  • Must have a DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one
  • Must have experience of working with KS2 pupils
  • Must have knowledge of the national curriculum
