Payroll and Benefits Specialist (Temporary Contract)

Location: Birmingham, 2-3 days in office
Rate: £210 per day or equivalent to £48,000 annually
Contract: 6-month temporary contract, with potential for extension

We are seeking a Payroll and Benefits Specialist with at least 2 years of international experience to join our client's team in Birmingham. In this role, you will bring strong operational skills, industry knowledge, and attention to detail to manage payroll and benefits tasks, supporting colleagues and ensuring compliance with legislation and SLAs.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurate, on-time payroll processing and benefits administration
  • Maintain payroll records, handling taxes, social contributions, pensions, and deductions
  • Collaborate with outsourced vendors, and address Tier 2 payroll queries
  • Support attachment of earnings orders and ensure compliance with local legislation
  • Provide general administrative support and implement new ways of working


Skills and Competencies:

  • Transactional Process Knowledge and in-house payroll experience
  • Attention to Detail, with ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Industry Experience: International payroll processing experience (min. 2 years)
  • Professional Effectiveness: Strong communication and stakeholder management
  • Leadership Competence: Self-driven, able to guide junior team members


Additional Requirements:

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office; payroll qualification desirable
