Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lighting Applications Engineer for a reputable lighting manufacturer covering the Midlands. As the largest privately owned lighting manufacturer in the UK, we are committed to providing top-notch service and remaining at the forefront of luminaire development. The ideal candidate will have a background in electrical engineering and will be responsible for providing technical support to sales teams, lighting design engineers, and other customers.

Responsibilities
  • Perform commissioning on all control and emergency testing systems
  • Manage projects from conception to completion
  • Diagnose and rectify issues with installed lighting systems
  • Provide reports and documentation on commissioning and rectification work
  • Carry out minor on-site rectification of products across the country
  • Adhere to quality control guidelines and ISO procedures
  • Follow company's health and safety policies and safe systems of work
  • Occasionally stay overnight locally to the site being worked on
  • Negotiate customer expectations and demonstrate strong social and interactive skills
Qualifications
  • Full UK driving license
  • City and Guilds level 2 Electrical Installations or equivalent (preferred but not essential)
  • 18th Edition trained (preferred but not essential)
  • Knowledge of the lighting industry (an advantage)
  • Knowledge of electrical installations (an advantage)
  • Knowledge of computer networks (an advantage but not essential)
  • IPAF certification preferred (training provided if needed)
  • CSCS (The Construction Skills Certification Scheme) - training provided to gain access to building sites
  • AutoCAD experience (an advantage)
Day-to-Day
  • Providing product application guidance and technical support
  • Performing commissioning and testing of lighting systems
  • Managing projects and providing on-site rectification of products
  • Adhering to quality control guidelines and health and safety policies
  • Interacting with customers and negotiating their expectations
  • Occasionally staying overnight locally to the site being worked on
  • Demonstrating strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Utilizing computer and technical skills in the day-to-day tasks
