About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our clients friendly and supportive team within a busy GP Practice in Birmingham. As a key member of the healthcare team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medication for our patients.

This is a full-time, Monday to Friday position, with working hours from 9:00am to 5:00pm, including a 30-minute lunch break. You will have the opportunity to work closely with GPs, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, providing medication-related advice and support to both patients and the practice team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dispense prescriptions and ensure accuracy in the preparation of medicines.
  • Provide medication-related advice to patients, helping them to understand their medications and how to use them correctly.
  • Undertake medicine reviews and assist with repeat prescription processes.
  • Work closely with GPs and other healthcare professionals in the management of long-term conditions.
  • Assist in the implementation and management of the practice's medication policies and protocols.
  • Monitor stock levels and manage the ordering, storage, and safe disposal of medicines.
  • Participate in audits and contribute to continuous improvement of pharmacy services.
  • Help with the development and delivery of medication education for patients and staff.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Pharmacy Technician (GPhC registered).
  • Previous experience working as a Pharmacy Technician within a GP practice or community pharmacy is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of prescription medications, NHS guidelines, and medication management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively in a busy environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and patient-focused approach.
