IMC Locums are looking for an experienced Acute Inpatient Physiotherapist for a role in the West Midlands. This role involves working within an acute hospital setting, providing high-quality physiotherapy services to patients with a wide range of acute medical and surgical conditions. You will be a key part of the multidisciplinary team (MDT), delivering care aimed at improving patient mobility, function, and facilitating safe discharge.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess, treat, and manage patients with acute medical and surgical conditions, including respiratory, orthopaedic, and neurological cases.
Develop and implement individualised treatment plans to enhance mobility, strength, and function.
Work closely with the MDT, including doctors, nurses, and other therapists, to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
Monitor and review patient progress, adapting treatment plans as necessary.
Assist with discharge planning, ensuring patients are ready for a safe and timely discharge.
Maintain detailed and accurate patient records in line with professional and legal standards.
Requirements:
Degree in Physiotherapy (BSc or equivalent).
Full registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
Previous experience working in an acute inpatient setting (NHS or private sector).
Proficient in treating patients with respiratory, post-surgical, and other acute medical conditions.
Strong clinical reasoning and decision-making skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Desirable:
Previous locum or agency experience in an acute hospital environment.
Familiarity with NHS systems and clinical pathways.
Experience in critical care, intensive care units (ICU), or high-dependency units (HDU).
