Reed Further Education are seeking a Plasterer Technician to assist in plastering workshops for a further education college in Birmingham. This role is ideal for someone with a plastering qualification. The position involves demonstrating plastering techniques, managing inventory and ensuring health and safety standards are maintained in the workshop environment.

Job Title: Plasterer Technician

Position: Full-time, 37.5 hours, Mon to Fri

Job Type: Temporary Ongoing until initially February

Salary: £15.51 p/h including holiday pay

Location: Bordesley Green, Birmingham

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Assist in the setup and maintenance of plastering workshops.
  • Conduct demonstrations of plastering techniques to groups.
  • Provide assistance to students within the workshop.
  • Perform inventory checks and manage workshop materials.
  • Ensure all health and safety protocols are followed and documented.
  • Engage with and provide support to workshop participants, particularly young individuals.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Must hold a plastering qualification.
  • GCSEs in Maths and English.
  • Previous experience in a similar role or environment is highly desirable.
  • Experience working with young people is advantageous.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Enhanced DBS on update service or willingness to apply for one through Reed.
