If so, Tradewind Recruitment has an exciting opportunity for a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join the team at one of our schools in Kings Heath.

Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a skilled and enthusiastic 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work across two classes, supporting two children in Key Stage 1 (KS1) at a school in Kings Heath. As a teaching assistant, your primary responsibility will be to provide personalised support, guidance, and encouragement to these two students, helping them achieve their full potential. The school has a large volume of SEN children with an extended team of support staff working under the SENco.

Responsibilities:

Provide one-on-one support to two children in KS1, understanding their individual needs and adapting teaching strategies accordingly.

Assist with the planning and delivery of tailored learning activities to meet the specific requirements of each student.

Support the children in accessing the curriculum, including literacy, numeracy, and other subject areas.

Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting independence, confidence, and self-esteem.

Collaborate closely with teachers and other professionals to ensure consistent support and effective communication.

Monitor and assess the students' progress, recording observations and maintaining accurate records.

Implement behaviour management strategies and provide emotional support when necessary.

Encourage and motivate the students to participate in classroom activities and engage in their learning.

Contribute to the overall well-being and safety of the children, following safeguarding procedures at all times.

Requirements:

Relevant experience in working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role.

A sound understanding of the KS1 curriculum.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, teachers, and parents.

Patience, empathy, and the ability to work effectively with children with diverse learning needs.

Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage and prioritize tasks.

A proactive and flexible approach to work, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.

A commitment to professional development and a willingness to learn and implement new strategies.
