Description
Filling a leadership role in the Process Engineering discipline in the technical department and having an oversight of Process Engineering activities across the business including:
- Producing client deliverables within time, budget, and quality constraints
- Arrange, participate in and/or chair meetings with internal and external clients
- Chairing of Design Risk Assessments, including HAZOP, DSEAR, etc
- Ownership of the business' process engineering standards
- Growing to discipline leadership of process engineers across the department
- Checking design calculations, drawings and specifications prepared by others for a variety of situations
- Deliver technical design and support to the business as required
- To assist in developing and growing the process engineering team and competence within all parts of the company
- To carry out primary design of industrial process systems and be able to specify enquiries for detailed design and construction for internal and external clients
- To assist the development of all matters relating to process and functional safety across the business
- To develop and manage the process engineering activities of major and minor projects to ensure that they are delivered safely, accurately and on time
- Understand customer's needs and requirements in developing new work streams
- Ensure that all installations and applications are in line with customer needs and safety standards
- Collaborate with other engineers and partners engaged in design and effectively apply these designs
Profile
A successful Senior Process Engineer should have:
- Minimum of a BEng Degree in process engineering, chartered with a recognised institute:
- Proven experience in the field of Process Safety, Functional Safety or HAZOP leadership would be a strong advantage
- Proven experience as an industrial engineer with at least 10 years practical experience
- Experience in line management, leadership and mentoring of technical professionals is an advantage
- A thorough understanding of the relevant health and safety, process engineering and design standards relevant to our sector
- A thorough understanding of P&IDs, PFDs, HMEBs and other process technical documents
- A working understanding of mechanical and structural design
- Experience working in a project environment
- Strong problem-solving abilities and good attention to detail
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Strong IT skills with MS products essential
