QHSE Specialist

Birmingham (Hybrid)

Our client are a world leader in Smart power, systems and robotics. They are seeking a QHSE Specialist to join their ever growing team, the role would be hybrid working with visits to the Birmingham office. The client are recognised as Top UK employer.

Key Responsibilities – QHSE Specialist

  • Reports HSE incidents and update relevant reporting tools. With support from LDM feeds back on lessons learned and best practice.
  • Implementation of group Sustainability objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs)  
  • Roll out Safety training to staff and partners as required.
  • Defines and develops Quality Strategies in line with client and external requirements and supports their local adoption and deployment to improve the Quality standards and support operational improvement across the entire value chain.
  • Works with and supports the local management team, to deliver the group HSE & Q targets and objectives. set coherent and aligned QHSE priorities and targets across the entire value chain, monitor progress, analyse QHSE Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and act on deviations from targets.
  • Deploys the standard quality improvement approach (i.e. 4Q) within all areas of the local organization to continuously improve business practices and performance.
  • Ensures the local organization has an effective management system that addresses Quality, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental and Wellbeing practices within the operation.
  • Implements policies and standards. Ensures area of responsibility is audited according to program for audit such as contractors. Assists line managers and supervisors in understanding obligations, liability and how to fulfil their roles, according to local QHSE legislation and external requirements, instructions and standards.
  • Facilitates QHSE risks assessment/audit by line management involving shop floor employees, i.e. those directly concerned by the hazards and processes, and ensures all processes are implemented.
  • Drives behavioural change through implementing Group-wide performance improvement programs and practices locally to ensure an exemplary Quality, health and safety culture as well as a strong focus on environment and wellbeing throughout the respective organization. Participation (frequent) in site audits and site visits, with regular contact with the
  • Engages external (e.g. customers, suppliers and other stakeholders) and internal stakeholders in order to report on, raise awareness and gain commitment on the clients QHSE efforts and performance and obtain objective feedback.

Qualifications & Experience – QHSE Specialist

  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
  • Quality/Continuous Improvement experience within a complex, matrix organisation.
  • Strong Electrical safety bias and experience.
  • Experience of working within a field Service environment.
  • Proven experience as a professional in QHSE who demonstrable leadership capabilities with a team-oriented attitude and
  • collaboration mind-set.
  • Full UK Clean driving licence.
