Machine Shop Production ManagerBirmingham (UK-wide travel may be required)PermanentMon-Fri (early finish Fridays)£65,000 + benefits Per annumPosition Summary:We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Machine Shop Production Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our machine shop. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for planning, operational management, and problem-solving to ensure the machine shop meets its performance targets and supports the company's overall strategic objectives.The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CNC machine (Hurco) shop environments, be adept at managing production teams, and possess a keen ability to drive efficiency, identify areas for improvement, and develop training and succession plans.This role will require strong collaboration across all departments to ensure that organisational objectives and production goals are met.Key Responsibilities:" Implement manufacturing strategies and action plans as directed by the Managing Director to align the machine shop with business objectives." Plan and manage daily production in line with the order book and future projects." Conduct performance appraisals, identify training needs, and work with the Production Manager to develop a multi-skilled, flexible, and motivated team." Collaborate with designers and customers to provide input on both new developments and existing products." Program/offline program using CADCAM software." Set up and operate CNC machines as required." Maintain clear communication with customers and stakeholders at all levels." Ensure accurate stock management and booking of materials to specific jobs." Collaborate with other manufacturing teams to maintain product quality and meet standards." Attend and contribute to monthly management meetings." Lead team planning sessions and manage production workload." Ensure production documentation is logged and updated." Implement lean manufacturing practices to enhance efficiency." Monitor daily performance targets, including quality and productivity metrics." Ensure compliance with safety, process, procedures, and quality assurance standards.Required Skills and Experience:" Proven experience managing or supervising in a CNC machine shop environment." Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan ahead and work systematically." Adaptable to change and able to manage pressure effectively." Focused on delivering high-quality products that meet customer satisfaction and standards." Experience with CADCAM software and CNC machine operations.Desirable Skills:" Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve complex problems."
