Main Purpose of the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Team Leader to oversee the day-to-day operations of a key manufacturing area. The role involves leading a team to achieve and exceed performance targets in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People (S-Q-D-C-P). This is a hands-on leadership role that requires driving high standards in production performance and maintaining a well-organized, efficient workspace through lean manufacturing principles such as 5S.

Role Summary

The Team Leader will take responsibility for managing and directing a team, transitioning from doing the job themselves to being accountable for the performance and development of the team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily team briefs to communicate key updates and objectives.
  • Collaborate with the previous shift for effective handovers.
  • Execute and, when necessary, create production plans to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Manage team performance, including attendance, training, and conduct.
  • Perform daily audits to maintain high standards of safety and quality.
  • Contribute to the resolution of production issues using structured problem-solving methods (e.g., 8D).
  • Manage inventory and stock control effectively.
  • Maintain and update visual management tools on the shop floor.
  • Review, analyze, and act on performance metrics, including Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
  • Promote Continuous Improvement (CI) and 5S principles within the team.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities.
  • Participate in recruitment processes, including interviewing potential new hires.

Minimum Requirements

  • Leadership qualification (internal or external).
  • At least 2 years of people management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven ability to perform at a high level, demonstrated through performance appraisals or similar metrics.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with experience conducting team briefs or similar activities.
