Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Assistant Project Manager to join a highly respected construction consultancy in Birmingham. This role offers hands-on experience across a portfolio of prestigious projects, providing invaluable exposure to project delivery, stakeholder management, and contract administration.

About the position

As an Assistant Project Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting the successful execution of high-profile construction projects from inception to completion. Working closely with senior project managers, clients, and stakeholders, you'll help ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. This position is not just a job-it's a launchpad for your professional growth, offering the chance to work on industry-leading developments and take your career to the next level.

Other responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the day-to-day management and successful delivery of projects.
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Preparing and managing project documentation and reports.
  • Submitting project data in line with client-specific formats and processes.
  • Attending, leading, and documenting meetings as required.
  • Producing detailed reports aligned with various project stages.
  • Conducting site visits to monitor construction progress.

Additional key responsibilities include:

  • Identifying and implementing innovative solutions tailored to client needs.
  • Assisting in the leadership and coordination of multidisciplinary design teams.
  • Monitoring contractor performance and reporting on site progress.
  • Contributing to business development efforts by identifying new opportunities.
  • Assisting in managing and strengthening existing client relationships.
  • Developing skills to take full ownership of projects, acting as the primary point of contact for clients.

About you

  • You will come from a construction consultancy background or client environment
  • Recent experience in supporting healthcare projects would be desirable
  • A degree or masters in a construction related subject is essential
  • You are comfortable in delivering presentations to stakeholders and clients

You should be a collaborative team player with an outgoing, proactive, and personable nature. Additionally, you must demonstrate ambition, a strong willingness to learn, and commercial awareness while ensuring projects are completed within agreed timelines.
