Project Manager
Purpose
Responsible for the portfolio of live projects across the business from order to completion, working with relevant departments to ensure projects are delivered on time, to budget and meet high quality standards.
Responsibilities
The concurrent management of all live automation projects.
Produce and maintain project timing plans.
To adhere to the Quality Management System and associated policies, processes and procedures.
Manage and maintain project related documentation.
Co-ordinate the efficient utilisation of internal resources across projects concurrently.
Work closely with the purchasing department during the procurement stage to ensure suppliers and subcontractors meet cost and lead time requirements.
Host project related meetings; internal or external.
Report project performance to senior management/directors.
Monitor the project budget to ensure no overspend and escalate if an overspend is forecast.
Work closely with resources and their supervisors to ensure tasks are completed within allocated hours.
Manage the FAT and SAT process, ensuring adequate resource and infrastructure is in place.
Knowledge
Understanding of efficient project management structure and procedures.
Knowledge of safe working practices to ensure activities conform to the Health & Safety at Work Act.
Knowledge of mechanical and electrical design, assembly and development/validation processes.
Understanding of automation; PLCs, robotics, pneumatics etc.
Experience
Experience of working with an ISO 9001 QMS, following the associated processes and procedures and compiling relevant documentation.
Has demonstrable experience of working in a project related role and having gained associated job-related knowledge.
Has demonstrable experience of working in an automation or machinery environment and having gained associated industry knowledge or has demonstrable experience of working in an engineering environment and having gained associated industry knowledge.
Knowledge of the design and build of special purpose machinery and automation cells.

The ability to work under ones own initiative as well as with a team.
Excellent organisational skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-tasking on different
projects concurrently.
Confident speaker, able to present in meetings to a variety of stakeholders.
A leader that can manage the day-to-day project activities and motivate
resource to meet deadlines.
Handle conflict with various stakeholders and come to a resolution that
benefits all parties where possible.
