A Tier 1 main contractor is seeking an onsite Senior Design Manager with a unique passion for PFP to oversee and control the design process, ensuring that design and procurement meet Client/Employers requirements and align with budget parameters.
This role focuses on Passive Fire Protection (post construction) within live healthcare facilities. As such the perfect candidate will be technically minded with proven track record working in a live hospital environment.

Responsibilities:
• Manage relationships across the project team including client, consultants, and subcontractors and have a thorough understanding of the process and risks/opportunities related to managing the design regarding Employer’s Requirements, Contractors’ Proposals.
• Ongoing review of design, subcontractor enquiries & documentation to ensure compliance and identify potential interface issues.
• Be influential in supporting the business achieve their Net Zero & sustainability commitments.
• Manage CDM Regulations, Regulatory Approvals and Planning Conditions.


What we require from you?
• Degree qualified or relevant qualification in Construction
• Proven experience in delivering design services within a live healthcare environment.
• Knowledge of NHS Health Building Notes (HBN) and Health Technical Memoranda (HTM).
• Familiarity with Passive and Active Fire Protection measures.
• Relevant professional membership (RIBA, BIBSE, IET)
• Valid CSCS card.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability and willingness to face challenges and solve problems independently and as part of a team.
• Liaise with all statutory bodies as required including Building Control, Clinical staff, etc
