Progress Teachers are currently seeking to recruit a KS2 Behaviour Mentor to work in a fantastic school in the B8 area of Birmingham.

The ideal candidate will be professional and passionate about SEND / SEMH and supporting children with additional needs and being fully able to adapt themselves to meet each individual needs, including excellent behaviour management.

We focus on long-term and permanent employment, meaning that you return to the SAME school every day, therefore offering consistency not only to staff, but for the students also, with often this resulting in you transferring across onto schools contract.

This role will commence from February.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and group support to children exhibiting challenging behaviour
  • Develop and implement personalised behaviour plans
  • Monitor progress and maintain records of behavioural interventions
  • Work collaboratively with staff and parents to ensure a consistent approach to behaviour management
  • Lead small group sessions to develop social skills, emotional regulation, and self-confidence
  • Offer guidance and support to staff on best practices for behaviour management

Requirements:

  • The ability to create a happy, challenging, and effective learning environment.
  • Experience working with children in a primary school or similar setting
  • Helpful, positive, calm, and caring nature.
  • Excellent speaking and listening skills.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Enhanced DBS or be willing to obtain one.
