Our client, a leading shopfitting and bespoke joinery company, is seeking an experienced Buyer to manage the procurement of materials, and equipment for high-quality interior fit-out projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in cost control, supplier negotiations, and ensuring the timely supply of materials, supporting the smooth delivery of projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source, negotiate, and procure timber, sheet materials, ironmongery, fixtures, and fittings for shopfitting and joinery projects.
  • Identify and develop relationships with reliable and cost-effective suppliers.
  • Issue and manage purchase orders, supplier agreements, and contracts.
  • Ensure materials are delivered on time and to the required specifications to meet project schedules.
  • Conduct cost analysis and negotiate best-value terms with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Assist in budget planning and forecasting for procurement activities.
  • Maintain and develop a strong supply chain network, evaluating supplier performance.
  • Conduct supplier pre-qualification checks to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Work closely with project managers, quantity surveyors, and production teams to ensure material requirements are met.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and reports for internal and external audits.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Buyer in shopfitting, joinery, or interior fit-out.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with a strong commercial awareness.
  • Experience using procurement software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Relevant qualifications in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or Construction (CIPS qualification preferred but not essential).
