This company made their breakthrough 10 years ago into the hospitality sector as a main contractor. The owner has come from humble beginnings and that mentality has spread through the business.

Everything revolves around providing a fantastic service to their clients.

This vacancy is a new position for the business to help speed and quality of their service. You will be focussed on buying materials and plant.

The hardest part about this role will be shifting the mindset of the Contracts Managers and Site Managers to go through a requisition process rather than 'pop to Travis or Screwfix' for the bits and pieces they need - whoever does it needs to be dynamic, driven and charismatic.

The Role

  • Establish relationships and set up accounts with the best rates with reputable merchants
  • Alongside the Delivery Teams, establish a practical requisition process for site material and plant requirements
  • Maintain, issue and update weekly plant hire logs to minimise overspend and losses
  • Actively work alongside Delivery Teams at the outset to establish material requirements inc any long lead items
  • Sourcing materials and plant quotes, compare and place orders with those that represent best value
  • Actively recommend alternatives that present better value to the business
  • Alongside the Finance Manager, set up online ordering for daily welfare materials (Tiger, Screwfix, Bryson etc)
  • Issue purchase orders via the accounts system
  • Assisting the financial controller with month end invoice requisition and queries
  • Create an inventory of stock materials and plant held at the yard / by staff and re-use wherever possible
  • Establish hire vs purchase costs at project commencement
  • Alongside the site / contracts / H&S manager, issue site setup packs
  • Setting up spend rebates with key suppliers
  • Maintain and issue monthly spend, saving and lost plant KPI's to Board
  • Primarily office based in the Coleshill area
