Your new company I am currently working exclusively with an ambitious and forward-thinking SME-sized manufacturing business, based near to Birmingham. They are currently recruiting for a Company Buyer to join the team. The role offers the opportunity to progress to Procurement Manager level over the next few years. Your new role The Company Buyer will report to the Head of Procurement and will support developing and implementing the procurement strategy across the business. The role will review purchasing policies and procedures, and make continuous improvement recommendations. The Company Buyer will build collaborative and cost-effective supplier relationships, methodologies will include creating supplier SLA's, auditing suppliers and managing performance. Additional key focus areas will include strategic sourcing, tender management, stock optimisation and cost management. What you'll need to succeed To be successful, you will be a proven Company Buyer or Senior Buyer with experience gained within a small or medium-sized manufacturing organisation. You will be CIPS qualified (or studying towards) - the company will potentially sponsor completion of CIPS or additional levels. You will be able to demonstrate expertise in managing the complete procurement cycle and supplier management, including international purchasing experience. Additionally, you will have previous success in introducing new procedures or initiatives designed to drive costs down and to maximise operational effectiveness.
