We are recruiting for a Project Surveyor to be based within our Commercial team in our busy Birmingham team. Reporting into the Associate, the Project Surveyor is responsible for advising on all aspects of design and construction and compiling detailed reports for the client.

Within this role your responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as project lead on small to medium sized projects
  • Managing team members to support in project delivery
  • Acting as Employers Agent on Design and Build projects
  • Acting as Quantity Surveyor on  Design and Build and Standard Building projects
  • Promoting commercial awareness and embedding best practice across the teams
  • Providing early cost advise
  • Preparation of cost plans including measurement using Cost-X measurement software or similar
  • Working in line with budgets, ensuring cost plans and time constraints are met
  • Preparation of documents for tendering and managing tender process, including analysis of tender returns and production of tender reports
  • Preparation of documents for contract
  • Site inspections and reporting
  • Review and agree periodic and stage payment notices with contractors
  • Preparation of payments and cashflows
  • Chair and minute project meetings
  • Prepare and maintain project risk registers and ensure this information is communicated with the client regularly
  • Manage the change control process including assessing variations and issuing change control notices
  • Preparation of cost reports
  • Prepare and agree the final account
  • Reviewing and agreeing claims
  • Snagging and defect inspections and managing the project close out process
  • Ensuring client scope of service delivery is met and projects are delivered within the project fee parameters
  • General administration duties and ensuring the QA processes are met
  • Team support across all projects, attendance at quarterly team meetings and monthly team updates
  • Reporting to line manager periodically with any risks or opportunities to the business
  • Attendance, contribution in and delivery of CPD workshops
  • Seeking new business opportunities
  • Travel across the UK, including construction sites, client offices and other offices within the Waldeck/Morson Group.
